Issue 268 of The Gooner - Published Wednesday 29th November 2017
The Gooner issue 268 is a 1988-89 special, to mark the release of the documentary film on the Gunners’ title win that season, ’89. The special features directly related to the theme are a recollection of the season, profiles of the players, a review of the documentary and a dissection of ITV’s broadcast on the game. In total, these take up 15 pages of pure indulgence.
Not only that, but we have part 2 of a lengthy interview with legendary former skipper Tony Adams. Coming up to date, we have trip reports from the Europa League visits to play Bate Borisov and Red Star Belgrade, an article on the flawed offensive approach of the current team, and another pondering why a significant number of fans don’t actually support the team anymore.
Our Gooner Years regular traces the changes in the experience of watching football live over the last 30 years, and there is an account of the recent, somewhat riotous, Arsenal Annual General Meeting. Add to this the usual regulars including The Spy, Talking Reds, Well Played / Pain In The Arse, Mickey Cannon, Inbox, the North Bank Times and the 91st Minute and you’ll have plenty of reading between now and the release of the subsequent issue in early January.
