Issue 269 of The Gooner - Published Wednesday 3rd January 2018 - with free 2018 'Classic Gooner Back Covers' Calendar

The Gooner issue 269 comes with a 2018 ‘Gooner Classic Back Covers’ calendar recalling some of the funnies that have graced the rear of the fanzine over the past 30 years. We have two interviews – one with goal-keeping legend Bob Wilson and the concluding part of our chat with four time title winning captain Tony Adams.

There is a special feature where contributors remember Arsenal FA Cup Third Round matches from the past, and a look back to an unusual friendly between Arsenal and France on Valentine’s Day in 1989. In ‘The Gooner Years’ regular, the stadium of experience of 30 years ago is compared with the modern day. There are articles looking at whether we are enjoying Arsenal’s football, another analysing the perception that there is a bias against the Gunners and one that ponders whether the club can breach the gap to bigger clubs.

The Don Howe mid-1980s era is compared to today’s team, and there is a look at the players currently out on loan at other clubs. There is a trip report on Cologne away and thoughts on the Alexis situation with the view that he should be sold now rather than wait until he walks in the summer. As well as this, we have all the usual regulars, including Talking Reds, The Spy, Mickey Cannon, Well Played / Pain In The Arse, Inbox, the North Bank Times and the 91st Minute. Plenty to get your 2018 Arsenal reading off to a good start.
